Twinge
A mental or emotional pang.
While living within my dash, I have experienced and am yet experiencing many things. Some things imposed upon me and some things I have imposed upon others. Either way, I acknowledge them when they come up. It’s amazing how some never own up to or ever see the wrong they do or have done to others. Then there’s that group who tends to accept that they are wrong most of the time. Which one are you?
I am reminded of the Apostle Paul when he said, “10 I have not done any wrong to the Jews, as you yourself know very well. 11 If, however, I am guilty of doing anything deserving death, I do not refuse to die (Acts 25 10-11).
Yes, his name was Saul and anyone who knows his history, knows that he housed the same soul and body as Paul. As a matter of fact, who and when did his name change from Saul to Paul? You may even say, “Paul didn’t kill anyone.” Maybe not physically, but he oversaw arrests and convictions which made him just as much a killer of those who followed Jesus Christ our Messiah. But one day, he had an encounter with the true and living God, blessed be HE who said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting (Acts 9:5). That day, Paul’s name didn’t change but his heart did.
To the body of believers, we have all done, and are still doing things to one another. Never mind the world, but to BELIEVERS, we judge. We speak harshly to them. We talk about them. We sometimes mistreat them when they are in our presence. We say and do things to justify why we do what we do, claiming that we are following the letter. If the Word changed me, why can’t it change those we judge by the Word.
And what about those who, in their minds, have done NOTHING to deserve mistreatment from a human being. You may not have done anything to them, but know this, you have mistreated someone else. Then there’s that other fella who always likes to remind you of who you were.
When I am overwhelmed with thoughts and accusations, all I say to my Father is, “Lord, the twinge is back.” If I have to say it one million times a day, HE knows what I mean. I am reminded of the scripture, “You will come back and comfort me again. You have thrown all my sins into the deep sea (Micah 7:19 ERV). Let’s love one another.
Awesome!
It is so comforting to know that no matter how many times I have to hit repeat and go back to God about something I’ve done it never changes his love towards me.
WOW! You presented what we needed to hear so eloquently! Yesssssss!! We must learn how to treat each other as believers. Father, please don’t ever let me get to a place where I can’t say that I’m wrong and I’m sorry. I love this blog!
Hilarious this part amongst many others: And what about those who, in their minds, have done NOTHING to deserve mistreatment from a human being. That part was really good. That little pointer finger is a trip! You delivered beautifully with this and is a great reminder of how awesome our God’s mercy is on us, especially.
