Blood
The blood of any living creature is their lifeline. Without it, nothing lives. We happen to live in a dispensation where the blood of bulls, sheep, turtle doves, and any other acceptable blood sacrifice is no longer required. Although there are different blood groups in human beings, please take note that there is only one blood type that counts.
So why is Jesus’s blood so important to me?
The benefit of the blood of Jesus frees me from a death sentence that I could never in a million years atone for. As David succinctly said in Psalm 51:5, “For I was born a sinner – yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.” So, neither my blood nor any other humans’ blood could never atone for our sins because that sinless, untainted blood came straight from the Father.
Just imagine Jesus, sitting among those he chose, predicting his own death saying, “See this bread? This is a representation of my body that I am going to freely give for you.” And He didn’t just stop there. After supper, He took the cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
Jesus not only foretold symbolically what he was about to do, but he practiced what he preached.
7 In Christ, we are made free by his blood sacrifice. We have forgiveness of sins because of God’s rich grace.8 God gave us that grace fully and freely. With full wisdom and understanding, 9 he let us know his secret plan. This was what God wanted, and he planned to do it through Christ. 10 God’s goal was to finish his plan when the right time came. He planned that all things in heaven and on earth be joined together with Christ as the head (Ephesians 1:7-10).
Decision Time
Lord Jesus, you took on the burdens of the entire human race. I am included in this mix. I even sense it was a hard decision to make when you asked,” Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.” Although hard, you made a conscious decision to shed your blood and become the ultimate sacrifice. I don’t know anyone who would do what you did for me. So now I decide to make you LORD. For those reading this, how about you?
WOW! This is so powerful I had to read it twice. It was even more powerful the second time. What a sacrifice. Just thinking about it I get so full with emotions. YES, I decide to make you my Lord.
Thank you for allowing God to use you and thank you for choosing to share with the world. It is needed and it is necessary. #thebloodstillworks
WOW! This is so powerful! But what really did it for me was when you said it is Decision Time! Amazing how you tell us what He did for us & then how we can experience what He did for us
